In 2012, I embarked on my crypto journey as a Bitcoin miner.
Here is the newest ant miner from bitMain. It is super fast, but it comes with a hefty price tag of $10,000. But consider this. Not only does it take two months to get shipped, it’s loud, produces a lot of heat and consumes a lot of electricity. Sure, you can make $19 a day at the current price of Bitcoin, but assuming your electricity costs are $0.06 a kilowatt, you will pay $8 a day in electricity to run this miner. So, that’s only $11 a day net. At that rate, it will take over two years to even earn back that $10,000 investment.
My advice? Don’t bother with the mining and just buy BTC. After two years of mining, you’ll be in the same exact spot, with a net profit of zero.
